Veritas Completes Sale of Guidehouse, Leading Global Provider of Consulting Services, to Bain Capital
New York, NY – December 14, 2023 – Veritas Capital (“Veritas”), a leading investor at the intersection of technology and government, today announced it has completed the sale of Guidehouse, (“Guidehouse”, or the “Company”), a leading global provider of consulting services to the public sector and commercial markets, to an affiliate of Bain Capital Private Equity (“Bain Capital”) for $5.3 billion. Guidehouse will continue to operate under its current management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Scott McIntyre.
Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Guidehouse has broad capabilities in management, technology, and risk consulting. The Company’s expertise spans a wide range of industries, including defense & security, energy, infrastructure & sustainability, financial services and health.
Guidehouse was initially formed when Veritas carved out PwC’s public sector business in 2018 and subsequently expanded into commercial end markets through the combination with Navigant Consulting in 2019, creating a scaled enterprise in both regulated commercial end markets as well as the public sector that regulates those end markets. The Company subsequently expanded key technology capabilities and scaled across particular public sector end markets via the acquisitions of Dovel Technologies in 2021 and Grant Thornton’s Public Sector Advisory Practice in 2022.
Under Veritas’ stewardship, Guidehouse experienced tremendous organic and inorganic growth. Veritas partnered with the Guidehouse management team to , increase the Company’s total addressable market; invest in business development to aggressively pursue new customers and teaming partners, as well as make significant investments in Guidehouse’s technology capabilities; instill more rigorous operating processes to enhance the Company’s competitive positioning and achieve strong operating metrics; and leverage the strength of the Veritas portfolio to pursue new growth opportunities.
"On behalf of the entire Guidehouse team, we're delighted to embark on the next phase of our growth in partnership with Bain Capital who shares our people-first culture, consulting heritage, and commitment to embracing complexity,” said Guidehouse CEO Scott McIntyre. “Together, we see significant opportunities to capitalize on attractive marketplace dynamics to further grow the business with our best-in-class client delivery capabilities. We are grateful for the meaningful growth experienced during our partnership with Veritas, and look forward to this new chapter with Bain."
