Steve Schorer Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Alion Science and Technology

MCLEAN, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Alion Science and Technology, an engineering, technology and operational solutions company, today announced that Mr. Steve Schorer has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 19 May 2017. Dr. Bahman Atefi, who has served as President and CEO since 2002, will assume the role of Vice Chairman of the board of directors going forward. Alion has been a portfolio company of Veritas Capital since 2015.

Previously, Mr. Schorer was President of DynCorp from 2011-2013 and returned to DynCorp to serve as President of DynAviation from 2015-2016. He originally joined DynCorp in 2009 to serve as President of Global Platform Support Solutions (GPSS). Prior to DynCorp, Mr. Schorer was President of the Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (C4I) Segment within DRS Technologies from 2003-2008. Prior to DRS, Mr. Schorer was President and General Manager of the Ocean Systems Division within L-3 Communications from 1998-2003. He served as a Director of Camber Corporation. Mr. Schorer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He has completed executive management programs at the University of California, Los Angeles and the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix.
