Veritas created Vertex Aerospace LLC through the acquisition of Raytheon Aerospace in June 2001 and the follow-on acquisition of Flight International, Inc. in December 2002. Vertex is a leading provider of aviation-related support services, principally to the U.S. military and various U.S. Government agencies. The Company's main lines of business are aircraft maintenance, parts repair and overhaul, logistics support, inventory management and advanced flight training. At the time of its sale, Vertex had over 6,300 employees and managed and/or maintained more than 2,000 aircraft at 323 sites worldwide. To support its business activities, Vertex operated FAA and JAA-certified repair stations that overhaul and repair both avionics and airframe components.
